Bus detours in Flatts to facilitate roadworks
Bus detours will be in effect on Sunday and “potentially” on Monday in Flatts Village, The Department of Public Transportation has advised.
The detours are to facilitate paving staff on North Shore Road by the Ministry of Public Works and Environment.
The detours will be in effect from 7.30am on Sunday until the road is opened by the ministry’s staff.
The department said Route 10 and 11 buses to Hamilton will travel via their normal route then via Flatts Hill, Middle Road in Smiths, turn right on Store Hill, left on North Shore Road then head back on route.
Route 10 buses to St George's will travel via their normal route then turn right on Frog Lane, onto Montpelier Road, turn left on Middle Road, right on Hermitage Road and left on Verdmont Road.
They will then turn right on Middle Road in Smiths, Flatts Hill, then head back on route.
Route 11 buses to St George's will travel via their normal route until the Barkers Hill roundabout.
They will turn right on Palmetto Road, left on Frog Lane, head on to Montpelier Road, turn right on Hermitage Road and left on Verdmont Road.
They will then turn right on Middle Road in Smiths, Flatts Hill before heading back on route.
The ministry said passengers who plan to board the bus at stops between Store Hill and Barkers Hill and who wish to travel east will need to travel on a Hamilton bound Route 10 or 11 bus and transfer to a St George's bound bus at either Barkers Hill roundabout or other transfer points.
Passengers travelling from Hamilton to stops between Barkers Hill and Store Hill will need to travel on a St George's bound Route 10 or 11 bus.
They were advised to transfer to a Hamilton bound Route 10 or 11 bus on Flatts Hill or other transfer points.
