Man denies series of offences after dangerous driving

A Sandys man allegedly assaulted a police officer, obstructed two others and damaged a police vehicle on Saturday.

Angelo Simons, 31, denied the offences, as well as riding a bike dangerously and not stopping for police, when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Mr Simons allegedly committed the assault near Sandys Secondary Middle School, an increased penalty zone.

He also denied having an unlicensed and uninsured bike and permitting an unlicensed person to use the vehicle.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case to December 8 and remanded Mr Simons in custody until that time.
