Prosecutors not pursuing charges against woman

Prosecutors have decided not to pursue a case against a Paget woman charged with distributing intimate images.

The 46-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, denied unlawfully distributing intimate photos of a man without his consent when she appeared in the Supreme Court in February.

The woman also denied sending e-mails of “indecent, obscene and menacing character” to the same man, who also cannot be named, as well as disobeying a written notice forbidding her from entering a Front Street property.

All offences were alleged to have occurred in early 2024, but prosecutors entered a nolle prosequi, or request for an indefinite adjournment, in Supreme Court yesterday.

Adjournments through a nolle prosequi can be upheld for one year before the case is dismissed.

Puisne Judge Alan Richards formally discharged the woman from court.
