An inaugural Bermuda Basketball Association Youth Basketball Charity Golf Tournament helped raise funds for basketball development on the island.

Golfers enjoyed clear skies and ideal conditions on the course for a spirited day filled with community energy, purpose and celebration at Port Royal Golf Course last Sunday.

Funds raised from the tournament will help the association’s mission to expand opportunities for young athletes to train, develop and represent Bermuda at higher levels.

Damiso Husband, the BBA youth director, who organised the event with the association’s youth finance committee, said: “This tournament was a true community effort and I could not be prouder.

“Seeing Bermuda come together in support of our young athletes reminds us why we do this work. The generosity shown, whether through sponsorships, prize donations, or simply showing up to play, directly impacts the opportunities we can give these young men and women,” he added.

“This event has set a strong foundation for the future, and we are deeply grateful. The BBA extends heartfelt thanks to its major sponsors, Port Royal Golf Course, the Ministry of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, Clyde Best and family, as well as the Bermuda Golf Association.

“Deep appreciation also goes to the many local businesses and individuals who donated prizes, products and services, helping to enhance the participant’s experience and maximise the funds raised.”
