Rider injured in Hamilton crash

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital this afternoon after a two-vehicle collision at the corner of Court Street and Dundonald Street.

Eyewitnesses said that the man was riding along Dundonald Street when he collided with the side of the police car which was headed north along Court Street at the time.

Police and first responders arrived at the scene at about 12.30pm and traffic was diverted from the area.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said the police vehicle was on regular duties at the time of the crash.

Witnesses were encouraged to call Sergeant Shawnta’ Edmonson on 717-2251 or e-mail sedmonson@bps.bm at their earliest opportunity.

Alternatively, information about the incident can be submitted via the BPS community reporting network, portal.police.bm.

At 2.15pm, a police spokesman said normal traffic flow had resumed in the area.
