Children and teens encouraged to design oral health posters

The Ministry of Health has invited young people to design a poster to promote good oral hygiene.

A spokeswoman said people aged 4 to 16 can create flyers centred on the theme “a happy mouth is a happy life” during this year’s Oral Health Month poster competition.

Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, said: “Oral Health Month is your chance to inspire healthy habits and I want our children to be part of that message.

“Good oral health supports overall health, confidence and wellbeing, and simple daily routines started early can make a lifelong difference.

“This poster competition is a positive way for children to learn, reflect and encourage their families and friends to protect their smiles.”

Posters must be dropped off at the Victoria Street clinic’s oral health section by February 20 and should include the child’s full name, age, school and contact number.

The competition is divided into three age categories — 4 to 6, 7 to 11 and 12 to 16 — all posters can be viewed at City Hall on February 25 and 26 and the winner will be announced on February 27.
