Time to renovate derelict buildings

Derelict: Teucer House on Cedar Avenue in Hamilton (Photograph by Blaire Simmons)

I must congratulate the Premier and Finance Minister for the Budget. I hope his predictions for revenues and expenses come true.

All we need now is casinos and an international lottery. Ten per cent of these revenues can go to Government to pay down debt, five per cent to the management company, these moneys managed by a reputable accounting firm.

Set aside millions every year to maintain roads and renovate derelict buildings and houses. It is a disgrace just to go around the Somerset area and see so many beautiful buildings and homes in a state of disrepair.
