Devonshire Colts will attempt to get their Premier Division title bid back on track when they travel to Devonshire Rec tonight (7pm) to face relegated Boulevard in the opening match of a double-header.

Colts lost precious ground in a three-horse title race after being held to a goalless draw away to fellow contenders PHC in their previous league outing.

They enter tonight’s clash with Blazers as the firm favourites to come away with the points with their morale soaring having advanced to their first FA Cup final since 2007 with victory over Zebras in the semi-final last time out.

Ray Jones’ team trail leaders Dandy Town by five points but have a game in hand over them and second place PHC after their league fixture with Paget Lions at Southampton Oval on November 23 was cancelled when an attempt was made to attack a Paget player during the warm-up.

Boulevard became the first team to be relegated after losing 6-0 to X-Roads Warriors in a make-up match last time out.

The remaining fixture at Devonshire Rec tonight will feature home side Devonshire Cougars tackling St George’s Colts (9pm).

St George’s will be keen to continue their winning ways in the league having edged champions North Village 3-2 in their previous outing, while Cougars are hoping to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to Paget.

There will be nothing other than pride at stake for both teams having already retained their top-flight status for next season.
