Saving Lives Festival kicks off on Saturday

The community has been urged to come together this weekend for an event to support and empower Bermuda’s young people.

The Bermuda Saving Lives Festival 2026 is scheduled to kick off at noon on Saturday at the Francis Patton Primary School with live music, family challenges, youth activities and more.

The event is intended to show young people the power of community and highlight those who support Bermuda’s at-risk youth.

Desmond Crockwell of YouthVision Promotions said: “I want us to come together. A life that’s saved — there is no price on that. We could all look at our children, look at ourselves. There’s no price value on our lives, no price value on our children’s lives.

“This is about saving lives, but we need the financial support because some sectors are very limited when it comes to physical knowledge and understanding of the at-risk lifestyle.

“We would like assistance from every sector. Some can only offer prayers. Some advice, some education. There are so many sectors of people that are needed that we are reaching out to every sector.”

Mr Crockwell said the event was intended to be a part of a wider campaign touching different communities across the island.

He said: “We want to restore some of these communities, but we need community involvement.

“We are looking to do anti-violence murals and messages, but we want to create an event and an experience while we do it. We are looking at a block party-type event that will include every sector of the community in these high-risk neighbourhoods.

“They didn’t start being high-risk, so we want to involve everyone in restoring the community.”

He said that “political football” was being played with young people in the island, which was costing time and lives.

Attendees are urged to park at Duck’s Puddle, with a free shuttle service in place to bring people between there and Francis Patton

Tickets for the event will cost $15 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 12 and are available now at ptix.bm.
