Dear Sir

I would like to address the Premier on the subject of casinos and lotteries in Bermuda. I don’t see Las Vegas, Atlantic City or the Caribbean having a problem with demand where casinos are available.

I don’t see the problem with banking. Why do the banks care where the money comes from as long as the gambling is legal?

Issue casino licences to the hotels and restaurants that want them. As long as these establishments are profitable and properly managed, the Government is missing out on millions, possibly billions, of dollars in revenues. Let’s get on with it.

You open casinos tomorrow and the demand will be there. People from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and UAE will fly in their private jets and book entire floors of hotels. They love to gamble and they are billionaires.

Wake up PLP, you are missing out on a lot of revenue. Use the money to pay down debt, not new cars, raises and useless trips.

KEITH GODFREY
