Under-15 cricket development gathers momentum
The Bermuda Cricket Board has announced that there has been significant impetus within the under-15 preseason hard-ball programme, which remains open to all interested players.
More than 23 enthusiastic players in the 11-14 age group attended the opening sesson on March 14, with the BCB indicating that 50 players have registered so far.
“The excitement on the field was matched by the presence of BCB vice-president David Horan and BCB high-performance consultant Andre Coley, who attended to observe the growing talent within our youth programme,” the BCB said.
“For our 15—18-year-olds, we are actively reaching out and inviting players back into the game.
“After a few seasons with limited opportunities, this is an important moment to rebuild, reconnect and reignite the love of cricket within this age group — and the BCB youth committee is fully committed to making that happen.
“Registration remains open and we warmly encourage all interested players to join us. If you attended last Sunday’s session but haven’t registered yet, please complete the form.
“Players may also register on-site. Boys and girls comfortable playing with a hard ball are welcome.
“After welcoming 24 participants in Week 1, attendance rose sharply to 36 players in Week 2 — a 50 per cent increase, demonstrating strong excitement and engagement among Bermuda’s emerging cricketers.
“Following the Easter break, our next gathering will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026. A reminder will be sent closer to the date.
“The BCB is excited to continue building momentum for all age groups. Thank you for your support — we cannot wait to see our young athletes on the field.”
