Bermudian-based Meritus Trust Company has welcomed Ryan Tyrrell and Danute Rico Slotkus to their team.

Mr Tyrrell is now senior trust administrator at the firm while Ms Slotkus has been made senior trust officer.

The appointments follow an announcement earlier this month that Meritus has been acquired by Guernsey-based private client services company Opera Group, as part of Opera’s push to build a transatlantic wealth platform.

In a notice on LinkedIn a spokesman for the company said Mr Tyrrell brought valuable expertise and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service, while Ms Slotkus’ experience and leadership was expected to further strengthen their trust services.

Mr Tyrrell said in his social media: “I’m very pleased to be joining the team and stepping into this role. I look forward to working with such a knowledgeable group, contributing to the firm’s continued success, and building strong relationships along the way.”

He was previously a corporate administrator at MJM Ltd.

Ms Slotkus was formerly an independent adviser, supporting clients in their various estate and tax planning needs.
