A man was reportedly taken to hospital this morning after an incident at Lindo’s in Warwick when he was said to have ridden a motorcycle into the supermarket.

Shocked customers reported that the man rode the vehicle through an open doorway and left it inside.

The rider was said to have then made his way out of the building on foot and was seen in the car park of the Middle Road premises as startled shoppers and staff looked on.

Zach Moniz, the general manager of Lindo’s, said an incident began at about 9.30am and members of the public assisted the man — thought to have been suffering a mental health episode — before police and medical personnel arrived on the scene at 9.45am.

He did not provide further details, but thanked everyone who assisted the man, who was understood to have been taken to hospital by police.

It is believed no one was physically hurt.
