Man accused of serious sexual assault
A man was charged today with committing a serious sexual assault and with threatening a woman.
The 40-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, appeared in Magistrates’ Court.
He was not required to enter pleas to the offences, which were allegedly committed in Pembroke on April 18, as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.
Magistrate Tyrone Chin adjourned the matter to the June 1 arraignments session and released the man on $5,000 bail with a surety until then.
He also ordered the man to not contact the alleged victim, surrender all travel documents, reside at an address in Sandys and report to Hamilton Police Station twice a week.
