The launch of a modernised summer camp registration platform has been pushed back one week for fine-tuning.

While the Camp Connect platform had been scheduled to launch on April 27, the Department of Sport and Recreation announced that it is now expected to come online on May 4.

Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, said: “We understand how important this platform is for parents and guardians, and we want to ensure that when Camp Connect launches, it delivers a smooth, fair and dependable experience.

“Our teams have been working tirelessly to get this right and taking a bit more time now will help us better serve families in the long run.”

A government spokeswoman said that technical teams and programme partners were finalising system enhancements and testing to ensure that the platform functions smoothly.

Diallo Rabain, the Minister of the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation, commended the digital transformation team and stakeholders for their work developing the system.
