Road closure, road closed (Image supplied)

A road closure announced earlier for today has been rescheduled to May 11.

The Ministry of Public Works and Environment said that the closure on Mangrove Bay Road in Sandys, from Cambridge Road to Somerset Road, will accommodate a community restoration ceremony.

The closure will begin at 4pm on Monday and the ceremony is expected to begin then and run until 10pm.

Traffic controls will be directed by representatives from Community Restoration Group.

The ministry added: “Motorists are advised to use detour routes via Cambridge Road or Somerset Road to avoid the closure.

“Residents will continue to have access from Cambridge Road to enter their homes on Mangrove Bay Road.

“The ministry encourages full co-operation from the motoring public and apologises for any inconvenience that may arise.”
