A 21-year-old American national was charged today with causing the death of Laquan Thomas while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Evan Weiner of New Jersey was accused in connection with a traffic incident on May 19 on Malabar Road in Sandys.

Mr Weiner was not required to enter a plea as the matter is indictable.

The court was told that his bail application remained pending.
