Milai Perott leaves Notts County days after watching play-off win
Days after watching Notts County gain promotion back to the Sky Bet League One at Wembley, Bermuda goalkeeper Milai Perott announced that he is leaving the club.
With his contract expiring on June 30, Perott posted on Instagram that he has moved on at the end of the season.
The 22-year-old has been with the English club since 2023 after registering for the Notts B and under-18 teams. He signed his first professional contract with the Nottingham-based side in 2024.
“When one door closes, another one opens,” Perott said.
“Unfortunately, my time at Notts County has come to an end. It has been a pleasure being here these last few years at this historic club.
“Thank you to my team-mates, coaches and staff who have all helped me during my time here.
“What a way to end the ride, achieving promotion back to League One. This club will always have a place in my heart.”
On Monday, Perott and his family members witnessed Notts County defeat Salford City, a team partly owned by Manchester United legends David Beckham and Gary Neville, 3-0 in the League Two play-off final.
“Watching Notts County earn promotion at Wembley was one of those moments I’ll never forget,” Perott told The Royal Gazette.
“I have been a part of this team for a few years now, so I have seen first-hand the ups and downs we have been put through to even be in this position.
“Seeing the passion from my team-mates and fans, seeing the players give everything on the pitch really made all of those tough moments all worth it.
“Also, having my family and friends in attendance for this historic moment was a huge deal for me because they have been by my side no matter what and I am glad they got to celebrate this achievement with me.
“Now heading into League One, I’m hoping the club keeps building with the same fight and belief because anything is truly possible. It will be extremely tough but I’m sure it’ll bring more big moments for us players and the fans.
“Lastly all glory to God because he has put me in this position and I am extremely grateful. I am ready for whatever else he has planned for me.”
