Jutorre Burgess excited to stay at Harborough Town
Jutorre Burgess is delighted after being retained by English Southern League Premier Division Central side Harborough Town for next season.
“I’m buzzing to sign an extension with the club even after a tough injury. I can’t wait to be back and give back to the club with goals, assists and wins,” Burgess told The Royal Gazette.
The Bermudian striker’s current deal at Bowden Park expires at the end of this month and Mitch Austin has decided to extend his stay.
“Welcome back, Jutorre Burgess, retained for the 2026-27 Season,” the club announced on Tuesday.
Comments in response to Burgess staying at Harborough Town indicate that the forward is highly rated by the club’s fans.
The former Bermuda under-20, Hamilton Parish and Brooke House College academy player celebrated winning the Southern League Premier Central title with the Bees in April.
Last October, the 19-year-old made his 50th appearance for the club he joined in August 2024.
Before that, Burgess had received his first call-up to the senior national team for the World Cup qualifiers against Jamaica and Curaçao. He was an unused substitute in those two matches before a torn anterior cruciate ligament ruled him out of the encounters with Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica.
“At the moment I’m six months post-op, it’s going very well and I’ll be back soon,” he said.
“I’m doing rehab and a bit of running. My projected to return late August to early September.”
