MPs return to the House of Assembly today for a busy session that will include debating a motion for the Government to purchase the Compass Point Building in Hamilton from HSBC Bermuda.

Lawmakers are to discuss the Electricity Amendment Act 2026, which would give the minister in charge the power to suspend the integrated resource planning process if deemed in the public interest, as well as making consumer affordability protections “integral” to the Integrated Resource Plan.

A tourism investment order for Rosewood Bermuda is on the order sheet, and the Retail Shops (Temporary Customs Duty Relief for Capital Investments) Amendment Act 2026, extending any grants on import duties from March 31 of this year to March 31, 2031.

The Pensions (Increase) Amendment Bill 2026 will bring into force a one-time 10 per cent pensions increase from April 1, 2026, for public officers under superannuation fund legislation.

David Burt, the Premier, will also take queries from legislators under Premier’s Question Time.
