The Fidelis Partnership has expanded its Bermuda underwriting platform with the launch of a new managing general agent focused on the American small and medium-sized enterprise casualty reinsurance market.

Adroit Underwriting Ltd, based in Bermuda, will operate through Pine Walk, the specialist MGA platform of TFP. The new business will underwrite a range of US casualty reinsurance risks, including medical malpractice, cyber liability, general liability, directors' and officers' liability, architects' and engineers' professional liability, public entity and lawyers' professional liability.

The company will be led by Jeff Markowski as chief executive and chief underwriting officer. He most recently served as director of underwriting for North America at Peak Re. He is joined by Derrick Holmes as chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

Capacity for Adroit will be provided through TFP's Syndicates 3123 and 2126, alongside third-party carriers.

The launch marks the 18th business established on the Pine Walk platform.

Michael Davern, United Kingdom CUO and group head of direct and facultative property and energy at TFP, said: "Pine Walk is a key pillar of TFP's differentiated distribution footprint and we are pleased to welcome Adroit as its 18th business.

“Jeff and Derrick bring an outstanding track record and deep market knowledge that make them exceptionally well placed to give brokers a differentiated proposition, rooted in experience, underpinned by a data-driven approach and enhanced by access to TFP's broader platform to support cross-selling opportunities.”

Mr Markowski said the US SME casualty reinsurance market was underserved by specialist underwriters.

“Adroit has been built to fill that gap — bringing disciplined, actuarially grounded underwriting to a market that needs it,” he said. “Launching on the Pine Walk platform means we are backed by industry-leading infrastructure, capacity and support to hit the ground running.”
