Artex has appointed Tracy Berkeley, the Bermuda Tourism Authority’s former chief executive, to lead placement at its newly renamed talent solutions business.

The appointment marks Ms Berkeley’s return to the human resources field, where she spent much of her career before taking the helm of the tourism authority.

The company said the Bermudian-based business would operate as Artex Talent Solutions as part of a new leadership and growth strategy.

Ms Berkeley will work with employers and job candidates to provide tailored recruitment services. Artex said her appointment came as Bermuda companies face more and more competition for specialised workers, succession-planning challenges and changing expectations.

“People remain one of the most important drivers of long-term business success,” Ms Berkeley said.

Ms Berkeley joined the BTA as director of people in January 2020 and was later promoted to chief administration officer. She became interim CEO in June 2022 and was appointed permanently in March 2023, becoming the authority’s first female CEO.

She resigned in June 2025 after being placed on administrative leave amid an investigation following a critical review of the authority’s workplace culture. The review came after the departure of numerous employees.

Before joining the BTA, Ms Berkeley held senior HR and operational roles at Rosewood Bermuda, Aspen Re and the Bermuda Hospitals Board.

She is also a director of Polaris Holding Co, the Bermuda Stock Exchange-listed parent company of Stevedoring Services, and vice-chairwoman of WeSpeak Bermuda.
