Sao Miguel advance in Triangle Cup
Sao Miguel defeated National Academy Under-15 to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the Bermuda Triangle Cup on Thursday night.
Taking to the field at Flora Duffy Stadium 24 hours after defeating Bermuda’s Brazilian Football School Select 1-0 to pick up their first win of the competition, the team from Azores made sure of their place in the last four.
Sao Miguel join Future Pro Academy and National Academy Under-17, who made it from group A.
In the first match of the night BBFS defeated Dandy Town 2-1 in group B. Issai Gibbons scored both goals for the select side, with the Town goal coming from Tokia Bean.
The last spot for the semi-finals will be decided when the Under-15 face Town in the final group B encounter on Friday night (5.30pm). It will be the only match on the schedule after organisers cancelled the proposed between Future Pro and a select side.
National Academy Under-17, winners of group A on goal difference, face the runners-up from group B in the first semi-final at 9.30am on Saturday.
Future Pro take to the field two hours later against the group B winners, with winning teams of the two semi-finals to meet in the final at 11.30am on Sunday.
