A GRADUATION ceremony has been held at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for 14 newly-qualified Emergency Medical Technicians who completed 100 hours of theory course work and more than 70 hours of practical experience between January and July of this year. Representatives from the police, prison and fire services, as well as St. John Ambulance Brigade and the hospitals were among the graduates.

“This training programme was a joint effort between Bermuda Hospitals Board and our community partners,” said course co-ordinator Synda Perry, Training Officer for Education Services.

“As a result of our efforts, the island has an increased number of qualified EMTs in various locales prepared to render pre-hospital care.”
