The 2026-27 domestic football season officially kicks off with the Charity Cup between Dandy Town and North Village at Bernard Park on September 6 (8pm).

In the heavyweight battle, League and Friendship Trophy winners Town and Village, the FA Cup champions, clash to start the new season.

Boosted by new and returning players, both teams have been putting in the work on the Bernard Park outer fields for weeks, with the hope of landing the first piece of silverware of the season.

Off the pitch, the night will also have a community focus. According to the BFA, Town have chosen Citizens Uprooting Racism as their charity if they win, while Village have settled for FrayStar Cricket Institute if the result goes in their favour.

There is also a special feature to mark the new season, with one of Bermuda's iconic footballers to be honoured.

“Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Charity Cup as proceeds from the match will be presented to the charity of the winning team,” the BFA said.

“In another feature of the new season, Butterfield Bank has donated limited-edition commemorative brass coins honouring Bermudian football trailblazer Clyde Best that will be used in the coin toss between team captains before each game during this season.”
