The motoring public has been warned of a potential hazard on North Shore Road, near Crawl Esso gas station.

The Royal Gazette observed a photograph of what appeared to be a deep pothole but the Ministry of Public Works and Environment has not confirmed it as such.

A spokeswoman for the ministry said it had been alerted to social media posts circulating regarding a potential “roadway concern”.

The spokeswoman added: “While we have not yet confirmed the specific condition of the road, the public can be assured that the Department of Works and Engineering will prioritise an assessment of the area and take any appropriate action necessary following inspection.

“In the meantime, in light of the significant rainfall experienced over the past two days, motorists are reminded to exercise caution and care while travelling on all our roads.

“Drivers should remain alert, reduce speed where appropriate and proceed with extra care when approaching areas that may be affected.

“Members of the public who observe potholes or any other road concerns are encouraged to report them via the GovAlert mobile app which can be downloaded for free from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.”
