A day of ocean discovery will take place on Saturday at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute and is free for all to attend.

The member appreciation day will run from 11am to 3pm, celebrating members for their support and providing a first-hand look for others at the impact and benefits of BUEI membership.

It will include the closing Kids Hour session, which will dive into the world of jellyfish.

The children’s event will run at 11am and 2pm, including a short film and hands-on educational activities.

Arts and crafts, Stem experiments and other family-friendly fun is available throughout the day.

Attendees can stop by the members tent to sign up, renew and collect a goody bag; complimentary refreshments are available for members.

“Our members make a difference,” said Traci Burgess, the chief executive of BUEI.

“Every individual, family and business membership creates a ripple effect of impact and supports BUEI’s mission to nurture an appreciation for the ocean around Bermuda and promote environmental stewardship through education, experiences and exploration.

“The more we understand about the importance of caring for the ocean, the more likely we are to take action to protect it.”
