A man injured in a collision on September 14 was still in hospital yesterday with police urging witnesses to come forward.

Police have said that at about 1pm on Tuesday, officers responded to a crash between a car and motorcycle on Harbour Road, near the junction with Manse Road.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said this week it was believed that the motorcycle rider was travelling west on Harbour Road and attempting to overtake another vehicle when he collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction.

Delivering an update, a police spokesman said the rider, understood to be a 61-year-old Pembroke man, was initially admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for medical care.

He added: “At last check on Wednesday, he remained warded at the hospital.”

Inquires into the collision continued and police urged any witnesses who had not yet come forward to contact Pc Llewelyn Simons on the main police number, 295-0011, or e-mail lsimons@bps.bm.

The spokesman also confirmed that two people who were involved in an unrelated collision that same afternoon had been treated at KEMH and discharged.

In that incident, two motorcycles collided at the junction of Bishop Spencer Road and Palmetto Road, Pembroke at about 6.30pm.

Police said it was believed one of the riders, a 33-year-old woman, was travelling west along Palmetto Road when she attempted to turn onto Bishop Spencer Road and collided with a second motorcycle, ridden by a 42-year-old man, which was also travelling west on Palmetto Road.
