A serving police officer is not connected to a recent drug importation trial in any way, the Commissioner of Police said this evening.
Darrin Simons said that the Bermuda Police Service was “aware of rumours” that alleged a link.
He added: “While an individual named during the proceedings shares the same name as our officer, the BPS confirms they are two distinct individuals.
“The serving officer is not the person mentioned in court and was in no way linked to the court matter.”
