Matthew Frick has joined Chancery Legal as legal counsel and Tiphani Philip has joined as paralegal/graduate trainee.

The firm said the two strengthen the firm’s growing legal practice.

Mr Frick was previously with the Department of Public Prosecutions, where he progressed from junior crown counsel and served as acting crown counsel (litigation).

He was admitted to the Bermuda Bar in March 2023, and has a practice which focuses primarily on civil and criminal litigation.

The firm said: “He brings significant advocacy and courtroom experience, having appeared before the Magistrates’ Court, Family Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.

“Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Brunswick, with a joint major in Economics and Psychology, and a Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law.

“Tiphani brings more than ten years of legal experience from her work with the judiciary and legal offices in Bermuda. Her experience includes legal research, drafting and case management across civil, criminal, family and matrimonial matters.

“Having completed her Bachelor or Law (LLB Hons) with the University of Essex and commenced postgraduate legal studies, Tiphani is preparing for pupillage and admission to the Bermuda Bar.

“She has a particular interest in civil litigation and family and matrimonial law, with a strong commitment to access to justice and client-focused service.”
