More than 90 per cent of Saltus students who took Advanced Placement exams demonstrated college-level proficiency, the school has announced.

A statement said 93 per cent of the 60 Saltus students who took AP exams scored a 3 — regarded by North American universities as college-level proficiency — or higher on the tests.

Saltus has offered AP courses since 1975. The students took a total of 141 AP exams.

Julie Rousseau, the head of school, said the Saltus AP programme “allows students to engage in rigorous academic challenges while also pursuing areas of personal interest, ensuring they are well prepared for success at the world’s top universities”.

The statement said that students Tse Burgess, Reese Morbey and Zoe Oduntan earned AP Scholar with Honours by scoring an average of 3.25 on all AP exams and 3 or higher on four or more tests, and that seven pupils earned AP Scholar by scoring 3 or higher on three or more tests.

It added that 14 students who scored an average of 3.5 on all AP exams and at least 3 or higher on five or more tests were named AP Scholar with distinction.

The statement explained: “These accomplishments reflect the dedication and hard work of both the students and the educators at Saltus in preparing students for success in their AP exams.

“Congratulations to all students on their achievement.”
