Female pedestrian in critical condition after collision
A woman is in critical condition after being involved in a road traffic collision this evening.
A police spokesman said officers and other first responders were called to the junction of Cedar Avenue and Angle Street at about 7.10pm.
Information suggested that a female pedestrian and a male car driver were involved in a collision.
The woman was found unresponsive and taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to her injuries, which were described as very serious.
The motorist was arrested for driving while disqualified from all vehicles.
Cedar Avenue is now closed to all traffic at its junctions with Dundonald Street and St John’s Road while the scene is processed.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and rely on alternative routes.
