Police appeal for witnesses to car crash with pedestrian
Police appealed for witnesses this morning after a female pedestrian was left seriously injured as a result of a crash with a car in Hamilton.
The woman, said to be a 57-year-old from Pembroke, was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said earlier that officers and emergency medical service crews were sent to an incident near the junction of Cedar Avenue and Angle Street in the City of Hamilton at about 7.10pm on Sunday.
The woman was reported to be unresponsive.
She was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
The BPS said today: “At last check, the seriously injured female pedestrian, understood to be a 57-year-old Pembroke resident, had been admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit.
“Members of the public who were near the junction of Cedar Avenue and Angle Street at the time of this collision, or other persons with any relevant information, are urged to call Sergeant Jordan Basden on 515-2498, or e-mail jordan.basden@bps.bm, as soon as possible.”
The male car driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired and for driving while disqualified from all vehicles.
