Ning, Burgess and Macedo reign supreme at Southside
Ning Cheng-Hsien, Carter Burgess and Len Macedo asserted their authority during Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Association’s St John Ambulance Trophy races at Bermuda Motorsports Park last Sunday.
Ning swept all three races in a hotly contested Scooters/Street Bike class to claim the first-place trophy. Gordon Smith took second, while nine-year-old Carter Burgess capped a remarkable day by crossing the line in third competing among the bigger machines.
Burgess and Len Macedo were also unstoppable, winning all three races in the MIR Moto GP 110cc — Expert and MIR Moto GP 110cc — Novice classes.
The tightest battle of the day arrived in the Open Class, in which Kannen Morris-Dickinson and Nevaeh Edwards finished tied for first. Ed Cook and Carlston Burgess finished second and third respectively.
With two races remaining in the season, Ning tops the Scooters/Street Bike standings by 76 points over nearest rival Burgess, with Jesston Thomas, Carlston Burgess and Dezi Degrilla-Tucker locked in a close battle fight for the podium places behind them.
Bruce DeGrilla Jr leads the Open class by a commanding 196 points over nearest rival Kannen Morris-Dickinson, while only ten points separate Romano Ramirez, Ed Cook and Billy Dunn in a tight battle fight for third.
Burgess holds a comfortable 120 point lead in the MIR 110cc Expert class, while just two points Thomas and Dezi Degrilla-Tucker in the battle for second.
The title race in the MIR 110cc Novice class remains wide open with only three points separating leader Macedo from second place Pharaoh Crockwell.
