Cashing in with donations to scholarships fund
A charity has been boosted by a $50,000 donation to help students clinch scholarships.
Knowledge Quest warmly welcomed the gift as a charity recipient from the annual Convex End-to-End. which is a 24.1 mile annual charity walk, ride, row or swim across Bermuda from St George’s to Dockyard.
It is Bermuda’s largest community fundraising event, attracting thousands each year.
The contribution has helped KQ continue its mission of providing college and university bursaries to Bermudians of limited financial means.
KQ is one of the largest non-government means-tested scholarship providers in Bermuda and since 2002 it has supported more than 300 students with more than $7 million in scholarship funds
Cynthia Cox, director at KQ, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Convex and the End-to-End organising committee for selecting Knowledge Quest as one of this year’s charity beneficiaries.
“This donation is a sound investment in Bermuda’s future. It will help deserving Bermudians gain access to the educational opportunities and support to reach their full potential.”
KQ helped out this year supplying volunteers at one of the water stations along the route, staffed by director Iva Taylor and others including graduates and students.
Ms Taylor said: “The Convex End-to-End brings together people from all walks of life in support of causes that make a real difference in Bermuda.
“We are proud to have been part of this incredible event and deeply appreciate the generosity of everyone who participated, volunteered, donated and helped make this contribution possible.”
In this upcoming academic year, 2026-27, KQ will be assisting a total of 47 students.
