Disqualified driver given suspended jail sentence
A woman who drove a car while disqualified has been given a suspended prison sentence in Magistrates’ Court.
Aaliyah Benjamin, 23, admitted the offence when she appeared in court yesterday.
The court heard that Benjamin, from St George’s, was caught driving a car weeks after getting banned from the roads for six months.
Magistrate Auralee Cassidy sentenced Benjamin to one month in prison, suspended for six months, fined her $750 for the offence and further disqualified her from driving all vehicles until October 2027.
