Bermudian-based SiriusPoint has appointed John Sauerland to its board of directors, effective January 1, 2027.

Mr Sauerland brings more than 35 years of insurance industry experience to SiriusPoint, following a long career at Progressive Insurance, where he most recently served as chief financial officer.

He also brings extensive governance experience, having served on the boards of Beazley, FedEx Freight, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

“What attracted me to SiriusPoint was the progress the business has made and the clarity of its strategy,” Mr Sauerland said.

“There is a strong platform to build from, and I look forward to working with my fellow board members and the leadership team to support the company’s continued growth.”
