Bermuda to feature at UK Remembrance event
Bermuda will be represented at the United Kingdom's National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in Whitehall in London on Sunday.
Kimberley Durrant, the director of the Bermuda’s London Office, will will lay a wreath on behalf of the island during the annual ceremony.
The event honours members of the Armed Forces and civilians who lost their lives in the two World Wars and subsequent conflicts.
The Cabinet Office said Ms Durrant will also undertake ceremonial command duties as part of the service.
British prime minister Andy Burnham, senior UK government officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps, and representatives from across the Commonwealth and international community will attend the event.
The National Service of Remembrance is the centrepiece of the United Kingdom's annual commemorations and takes place at the Cenotaph in Whitehall.
The ceremony brings together members of the Royal Family, government leaders, diplomats, veterans, serving personnel, and the public in a solemn tribute to those who have served and sacrificed.
The ceremony will be broadcast live by the BBC.
