SUNDAY, OCTOBER 31: Premiership round-up

North Village 4 Devonshire Cougars 2

North Village claimed an important victory over rivals Devonshire Cougars in the Premier Division yesterday at Bernard Park.

Village opened the scoring through Pierre Smith before Ralph Bean added a second before the half hour mark.

Cougars hit back just before half-time through a Moses Steede penalty, but conceded a third straight after the break when substitute Sammy DeGraff got his name on the scoresheet.

Cougars skipper Kwame Steede pulled a goal back midway through the second period to give his side hope of a comeback.

But Taurean Manders put paid to those ambitions when he completed the scoring late on for Village.

Village talisman Ralph Bean was sent off in the final minutes for dissent.

Somerset Eagles 3 DandyTown 3

A brace from Adolphus Lambert and solo strike from Troy Tucker helped Somerset Eagles earn a well deserved draw against Dandy Town at St. John’s Field.

Town went ahead through a Jamel Swan header before Tucker equalised shortly after.

Raymond Beach put the champions back ahead just before the break, but Eagles caught Town napping early in the second half when Lambert scored his first.

Lambert then put his side ahead for the first time before Damon Ming curled a corner home to leave honours even.

St.George’s Colts 1 Boulevard 1

St. Georges’s Colts and Boulevard Blazers cancelled each other out at Western Oval yesterday.

Blazers took the lead through striker Temiko Wilson but Clay Darrell drew Colts level before half-time.

Southampton Rangers 1 Devonshire Colts 0

A free-kick from Jermaine Dill earned Southampton Rangers their first win of the season against fellow strugglers Devonshire Colts at Southampton Oval.
