Shares of Butterfield Bank fell by $1, or 3 per cent, to $32.50 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index after 307 traded.
On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were down 79 cents, or 2.46 per cent, at $31.35.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 44.98 points, or 2.17 per cent, at 2,031.94, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 1.37 points, or 0.09 per cent, at 1,476.29
