Young driver Junior DeSilva scored a double victory with Bermuda Warrior in the 1:17 to 1:19/4 time bar while Timmy Boyles won two heats with his new pony Shamrock Temujin. Shamrock has been in Bermuda for about a year but Saturday marked his first appearance on the track.
Meanwhile, Diamondway, driven on Saturday by Joseph Viera, lowered the track record for a trotter with a time of 1:14/2. But it still wasn't fast enough to win the race.
Diamondway placed second behind Mowtown Scott driven by David Lopes who won the second heat of the 1:14-1:16/4 time bar.
The closest race of the day was in heat one of the 1:10-1:12/1 time bar in which Championne County, driven by Lopes, was followed home by Grand Magic with Viera and Chris Roque driving Formal Attire. All finished within a fifth of a second of each other.
Racing continues next Monday with a special holiday race card.

BRIDGE BDG Bermuda placed 48th out of 71 teams as the World Bridge Team Olympiad wound up in Rhodes, Greece on Saturday night.
The team now enter a play-off with Canada and Mexico to determine who will represent their zone in the Bermuda Bowl.
Bermuda also entered the multi-national mixed teams event and finished 40th out of 86. Going into the final day the team of Roman Smolski/Vera Petty, John Burville/Jean Johnson and Joe Wakefield/Margie Way were in 20th position but two losses destroyed their chances of a higher finish.
