While the men are already four weeks into their season, the women kick off their campaign tomorrow night at PHC Stadium with just one match slated.

New outfit PHC Teasers make their debut, taking the stage against another freshman crew from Robin Hood. That game will serve as the curtain raiser to the men's First Division encounter featuring Vasco and Devonshire Colts.

While entering competition for the first time, PHC have a number of experienced players and potential game winners in their ranks.

Terry-Lynn Paynter and Zina Jones are two, having transferred from defending champions BAA Telecom, while former Somerset players Raquel Wilkinson and Joy Simons further fortify the unit.

For Robin Hood there is Michelle Clarke, an extremely versatile player equally adept in attack or defence. Others to watch include Liz Stewart, Heather Brand, Jeannie Hodgkins and Renee Darrell.

The first Women's Triangular Tournament hosted recently at BAA Field provided several close encounters dominated by defence, as evidenced by the fact that just one goal was scored in three games.

BAA Telecom emerged victorious in the end, beating Robin Hood 1-0 courtesy of a Ann-Marie Ivanoff penalty.

Earlier, PHC Teasers and Hood had played to a scoreless draw, followed by a similar result for PHC and BAA. Each game was a 30-minute affair.

SOCCER SOC There will be a meeting for all North Village Premier Division players tonight at Bernard Park, starting at 6 p.m.
