Four receive $5,000 scholarships
Four students received a total of $20,000 in scholarships from the Gilbert and Sullivan Society for their education in the performing arts.Julian Johnson, Shana Parker, Rowan Vickers and Rory Wilson were each awarded $5,000 to put towards their post-secondary education.Geoffrey Faiella, a Gilbert and Sullivan board member, praised this year’s recipients for their commitment to academics and the performing arts.“We received applications for this award from many promising candidates,” Mr Faiella said. “Each student was equally impressive in their achievements in the dramatic arts.“In particular, the four awardees demonstrated an admirable commitment to their studies, but also a commitment to the performing arts in Bermuda. The board would like to congratulate the recipients, and thank all applicants for their submissions.”
