Proceeds from an event to celebrate France’s national day will benefit Bermudian students.

L’Alliance Française des Bermudes will mark Bastille Day with an event at the Fairmont Southampton on Saturday.

Money raised by the party will be put towards scholarship programmes for Bermudian students to study French. Bastille Day marks the 1789 storming of the Bastille prison in Paris, a turning point in the French Revolution.

The event will begin with a complimentary cocktail served on the hotel’s Great Sound Lawn at 6.30pm. Dinner will be served at 7.30pm. Tickets cost $90 for members and $100 for non-members.
