Key post: Karen Williams-Smith re-elected president of the Bermuda Bar Association
The first black woman to become president of the Bermuda Bar Association has been re-elected to the post.
Karen Williams-Smith was first appointed president last May and announced plans to expand the group’s free legal advice clinics.
The BBA membership elected a Bar Council and officers for the year ahead at its AGM last week.
The other officers are Elizabeth Christopher, vice-president, and Barclay Simmons, honorary secretary.
The members are Cindy Clarke, George Jones, Michael Burns, Helen Cooper, Jerome Wilson, Keith Robinson and Attorney-General Kathy Lynn Simmons in an ex-officio role.
