Butterfield Bank?s investment division, Butterfield Asset Management Limited (BAM), this week announced it has won the prestigious Standard & Poor?s (S&P) award for the best three-year performance of a US Dollar offshore fixed income fund. The Butterfield Select Fixed Income Class placed first out of 21 funds, including those managed by other major financial institutions, in the Offshore Investment category for US dollar bond funds over three years.

The Annual S&P Awards are accepted globally as one of the standards by which fund managers and investment management groups are measured.

They reward not only superior performance, but also the consistency of performance relative to the benchmark of the fund?s peers.

Ian Coulman, managing director, BAM, said: ?This award is a tribute to the skill and dedication of our strong investment management team and shows that our funds can compete with those from some of the world?s leading financial services organisations.

?It recognises the strong performance for The Butterfield Select Fund Fixed Income Class over the last three years, making it a valued member of our Butterfield family of funds, which collectively have assets of in excess of $5 billion.?

The Butterfield Select Fund Fixed Income Class fund managers are Yan Arsenault and Tim Davidson.

?The award acknowledges our fund?s consistently strong performance over the last three years with average annual compound returns of 8.29 percent,? Mr. Arsenault said, adding: ?The fund also placed second for its performance over the last year, when the average annual compound return was 6.17 percent.?
