Police launched a manhunt last night after they recovered a firearm following a chase with a motorcyclist who escaped into Devonshire Marsh.

Police flooded the area off Middle Road near the Ornamental Iron Works as they serached for the suspect.

Officers had spotted the motorcylist at about 9.45pm and chased him at high speed after he refused to stop.

They recovered the weapon when the rider ditched his bike.
