Hamilton Princess full for triathlon event

Hamilton’s landmark hotel is fully booked ahead of the MS Amlin World Triathlon Bermuda.

The Hamilton Princess is sold out for April 26 to 29, the Bermuda Tourism Authority said this morning.

Tim Morrison, the hotel’s general manager, said the venue was “extremely happy” with its partnership with the sporting event.

The BTA added that island-wide hotel bookings were 10.6 per cent ahead of last April.

About 100 world-class athletes from 30 countries will compete in the triathlon, including Bermuda’s Commonwealth Games golden girl Flora Duffy.

Top-ranked male triathlete Mario Mola, of Spain, will also race.

More than 600 people are expected to take part in the event.

Pat Philip-Fairn, Chief Product and Experiences Development Officer at the BTA, said: “All of Bermuda can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and support Flora Duffy from the sidelines anywhere on the course, for free.”

Three races take place on Saturday, April 28.

The Age Group amateur race starts at 7am. The Elite men’s race begins at 1pm and the Elite women’s race at 4pm.
