Keep your shots up to date
The Department of Health is urging members of the public to keep their vaccinations up to date.
Last week the department observed the eighth annual Vaccination Week. As part of that it urged people of all ages to get vaccinated for preventable diseases.
"Families in Bermuda are encouraged to sustain the gains achieved by having their children immunised on time and according to the Bermuda schedule on immunisation," a statement said.
It encouraged seniors to get flu shots in October and November and said some persons at high risk may require a shot for pneumonia.
"Adults who were not fully immunised as children may be at risk of transmitting diseases such as whooping cough and measles and are encouraged to have their shots up to date," the statement warned.
People travelling abroad to countries where Hepatitis A and B and yellow fever are present should also get those vaccines.
