Bermuda Stock Exchange listing and compliance manager James McKirdy has been promoted to the new position of chief compliance officer.

BSX chief executive officer Greg Wojciechowski said Mr. McKirdy, who joined the exchange five years ago as listing manager, will also act as CEO in Mr. Wojciechwoski's absence.

"I am delighted that James has been promoted to the position of Chief Compliance Officer," Mr. Wojciechwoski said. "This promotion recognises his hard work, dedication and deep knowledge of the BSX's regulatory infrastructure and environment. "

Prior to joining the exchange, Mr. McKirdy worked in the investment divisions of both the Bank of Butterfield and the Bank of Bermuda.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bermuda announced last week that seven candidates have passed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Uniform Final Examination.

Collin Dill, Colin James, Claire James, Wendy Hnatiuk, Gerry Hobson, Joel Irwin and Susy Pereira were all successful in the examination which they took in October.
